Big bats from Oro, Gazzolla,
Bennett, Sablay and Madrid
The Delaware State Hornets are on a 5 game winning streak after this weekend's 3 victories over the Morgan State Bears in their first MEAC North series of the season. The Hornets knocked out 38 hits to efficiently bring home 30 runs in all this past Saturday and Sunday.
Chloe Oro batted 7-for-10, with a triple, scoring 8 runs and knocking in 5 RBI.
Nicole Gazzolla swung 8-for-12, with 2 doubles and Ashley Bennett contributed with a 4-for-6 weekend that included a double and home run!
Rochelle Sablay slammed 5-for-10 with 2 doubles and a triple and drove home 8 RBI, while Jessica Madrid hit 4-for-9 with 2 doubles and a triple for 5 RBI.
Other two base hits came off the bats of Jennifer Fischbach and Samantha Gross.
On the base paths, Oro swiped 4 bases, Madrid stole 2, and Gazzolla added still another.
Next up for the Hornets is a trip to Charlottesville, VA, on Wednesday, April 10 for a 3 PM and 5 PM doubleheader against the Virginia Cavaliers.
